When the pandemic hit in 2020, I lost my job—and with it, my only source of income. As a single mom and sole provider for my two children, I had a choice: panic or pivot. I asked myself, what is my passion, and how can I support my family?

For over 30 years, I’ve loved making candles, but I never imagined turning my hobby into a full-time business—especially in the middle of a global crisis. With no other option, I took a leap of faith, invested my entire savings, and poured everything I had (both literally and figuratively) into creating something meaningful. What began as my darkest hour became the start of a beautiful journey.

Bode+Ev isn’t just a business; it’s my heart and soul. Every candle is hand-poured in small batches using 100% all-natural soy wax and a premium blend of fragrance + essential oils—free from toxins, phthalates, dyes, and irritants. Our wicks are cotton braided, and our 10oz candles are housed in 100% recycled glass. Safe for your home, your littles, and even your pets.

The name Bode+Ev comes from my greatest inspirations—my children, Boden and Eviana—symbolized by the birds in our logo. They represent freedom, transformation, and the courage to chase your dreams.
